I’m very excited by the news that Tarzan, an old favourite from my childhood, is about to bounce back on the big screen. A new animated film of the jungle hero is released on 2 May (rated PG).
The plot is a modern interpretation on Edgar Rice Burrough’s classic story. A boy called J.J. Greystoke survives a plane crash in the jungle. He is found by a gorilla who raises the child as one of her own and J.J. adopts the name Tarzan.
As one of the gorilla family, life is relatively peaceful for Tarzan until he comes into contact with Jane Porter. As a result of his contact with Jane, he discovers that a man called William Clayton, boss of Greystoke Energies, wishes to destroy the land in search of a new energy source. The question is; who exactly is Tarzan? When the truth comes out, it is more than the jungle that is in jeopardy.
