What follows is a true story. It’s one small example of the casual sexism I faced when I gave up full-time employment to become the main carer for my kids and it partly inspired me to start Dadbloguk.
I think it’s safe to say we’re all ticking off the days until the kids are back at school… and so are the kids! It’s been tough juggling parenting, home learning and work over the last couple of months. Hopefully now we can get back into a routine, and put some grins on the kids’

The other day I was stood in the kitchen firing off numerous text messages. My wife wanted me to do something else but I had to politely ask her not to interrupt as I was busy “running the household.”
A good quality, decent childminder your kids love is worth their weight in gold. A childminder who will also babysit at the weekends is worth even more. Unfortunately, they’re also hard to find.
