Just a foxglove. Or is it??? I took this picture

Just a foxglove. Or is it???

I took this picture earlier in the week when Izzy and I met up with a family friend and his kids and we went for a walk (...as we are now permitted to do in England).

It was significant for two reasons. Firstly, Izzy was able to see a friend and she needs the social contact. It’s been tough for her since her older sister returned to school.

Secondly, this was a moment of brief respite from the absolutely craziness of the end of this school year and preparing for the summer break. Everything g this year is taking so much extra effort: Researching what will be open and under what conditions, how far you can realistically travel, what sports clubs and activities will be operating, which family members it would be okay to meet and so on. Oh yeah, then there’s preparing Helen for starting secondary school while seeing through the final few days of homeschooling Izzy.

Anyone else want to hide after three months of homeschooling?

As far as I am concerned, we can’t get to the school holidays fast enough. If anything, having one child at school and the other at home has been more challenging.

It’s also given us an insight as to what the ‘big’ return to school could be like in September. I think pupils will probably settle very quickly into the formal learning g regime, but socially, things could be tough.
