Highlights from The Toy Fair 2019

What toys are going to be popular in 2019? Will there be any new board games to hit the market and will you struggle to find age-appropriate birthday presents to give to nieces, nephews and so on?  I spent a morning at The Toy Fair at London Olympia to try and get some answers to these questions.

Fun with LEGO models in unexpected places

I’ve dedicated a lot of time over the past year to improving my photography. Sometimes it’s a case of taking pictures of something interesting in unusual environments and so I’ve been experimenting and taking pictures of LEGO models in different settings.

Starting school: Is my youngest child ready?

We’ve reached a strange milestone in this household. At four years and two months, Izzy, our youngest daughter, has just reached the age her older sister was when she started school. In other words, we’re preparing to jump on the ‘starting school’ roller coaster all over again.

Izzy, my youngest daughter, mucking around with one of my hats. Will she really be ready for school later this year, or am I fussing over nothing?

Putting up a Christmas tree: How difficult can it be?

It’s Christmas time and so it’s a time for giving, charity and fun. Oh, yes, let’s not forget drama.

Christmas, Christmas tree, tree, fun at Christmas, drama at Christmas

Izzy takes a break under the Christmas tree. Alas, I had no time for a relaxing experience such as this.
