Izzy might be ready to start school, but I don’t feel prepared!
It’s all becoming very real: my youngest daughter will shortly start school. Of course we’ve known this as a family for ages, but the countdown really has now begun.

It’s a frightening reality that Izzy, my youngest daughter, is just a few weeks younger than this blog. To put that in perspective, Izzy will start in reception class this September.
We’ve reached a strange milestone in this household. At four years and two months, Izzy, our youngest daughter, has just reached the age her older sister was when she started school. In other words, we’re preparing to jump on the ‘starting school’ roller coaster all over again.
My youngest daughter is on the cusp of turning four. Anyone with a child turning four between now and 31 August 2017 will know what that means; it’s time to apply for a primary school place.
Later this week my seven-year-old daughter will return to school after the long summer break. She’s left the infant playground behind and will join the big kids in the junior yard.
