During the half-term holiday, I saw something that stood out. At the top of the hill near our house was a group of boys on bicycles. Aged about 10 or 11, they were clearly having some kind of adventure. Despite the busy traffic on nearby roads, it was great to see kids enjoying outside play.
Over the past few months, I’ve seen numerous comments on social media from people preparing for significant birthdays. I’ve also seen a few “30 / 40 / 50 things to do before you’re 30 / 40 / 50 (delete as applicable) type articles.
Over the years I’ve read many books that encourage children and parents to explore the outside world together. I’ve become quite cynical as they often require specialist equipment or assume you live in a remote location.
You know how your child can say something, something very innocent that forces you stop and re-evaluate your approach to parenting? Well, 10 out of 10 Izzy Adams because that’s what you’ve just done.
This is possibly the most experimental photograph I have ever taken. At first glance it may not look like much, but it took a lot of effort to get an image of this candelabra reflected in a puddle.
