I thought it was about time I wrote a blog post about this blog. I worry that it seems a little self indulgent, but it seems like the correct thing to do.
I’ve made a number of changes to the blog over the past couple of months. Some of them are very obvious, such as coming out from behind the blog’s logo with a proper profile picture. Others changes are more subtle. I kinda figure that if I don’t tell you about them, there’s a very good chance they’ll go unnoticed.
The focus of Dadbloguk is my story as a stay at home dad and the challenges I (and other dads) face. That has always been the case and will not change. As this blog approaches its second birthday, however, I’m conscious of the fact it has evolved and the content and subject matter I write about has diversified.
To better reflect what I’m doing these days, I’ve added several new categories. If you look at the drop down menu above you’ll see that photography, men’s style, family finances and days out have been added as options. Some of the categories might look a little bare at the moment. Stick with me, I’m still going through my old posts and adding to them so they will grew in size (oh, and expect a travel category in the near future).
I’ve also created a hire me page. A change in my circumstances means I have more time available to spend on the blog while also selling my services as a freelance writer and communications / PR specialist. It’s something I’ve been doing for a little while but I simply hadn’t got around to placing anything on the blog. At long last I’ve done something about it.
Finally, I’m using Instagram again. I used Instagram a tiny bit in the past but just never got into it. As I’ve written some fashion-focsed posts and also re-discoveed my love of photography, it seemed like a good thing to take more seriously! Second time around, I’m really enjoying using it. If you want to follow my Instagram feed, you’ll find an icon at the top right of this page, as well as icons to my other social media channels.
That, I think, covers the main changes. There are so many blogs out there I am always delighted when someone stops by and reads this one. Thanks for reading and I hope you like the changes I’m making.
