Last week was a funny old week. I was phenomenally busy as I prepared for the start of the weirdest of school summer holidays. It was also the week that my eldest child’s primary school days formally came to end…for the second time in four months.
When I was at secondary school, I had a chemistry teacher who was quite a character. He was very sarcastic and this appealed to me greatly. He also travelled to school every day on a motorbike, which gave him a slightly rebellious edge and made all the other teachers seem very boring in comparison.
When the schools closed back in March I was convinced they wouldn’t open again until September. Lo and behold, they have opened and last week our eldest child was welcomed back into the classroom for a couple of settling in days before the ‘big’ return this week.
