This post was inspired by #theprompt creative writing linky hosted by the Mum Turned Mom blog. The prompt word on this occasion was ‘family’. I have also been inspired by a new blog I have discovered called Two Sentence Short Stories, so have written something in this manner. I hope you like it.
A young married couple are stood facing each other at the entrance of an en-suite bathroom; “You remember,” she said, “the night we got tipsy after drinking a bottle and a half of that really expensive Malbec.” “Oh, the Malbec night,” he said, recalling the occasion, and stared down at the two grey lines confirming they were to have a family.

That’s fab, John. Very clever using the two sentence idea and the prompt together.
I know I sometimes have a little trouble writing to length so the two sentence fiction idea forces me to be disciplined!
Short but sweet. Excellent! 🙂 Fab idea.
Thanks, a scenario I think many couples can probably relate to.
An even shorter story than my 100 word challenge! Well done 🙂
Oooo, you do a 100 word challenge?? I’m in.
Very clever! It’s harder to write concise prose with true meaning and you did it. Very creative and very dextrous with your words. I like it!

Very kind words Tracey, thanks for saying so.
Brilliant; only two sentences, but it tells the story 🙂 Fab, I love it! Thanks so much for sharing with #ThePrompt
Fab story!
Thanks Becky.
Ha, as someone has said, short but sweet! V clever #theprompt
Thanks Emz. Glad you liked it.
Very clever punctuation? Great little tale!
Thanks Carol. If I’m honest, I think I could tidy the punctuation up a bit but at least it works!
