Collect memories, not photographs.

I started a little something on Twitter the other day. I ran a poll asking whether people think it’s acceptable to use their phones to take photographs in schools and childcare settings.

A dad takes a photograph of a school play. Do us parents really need to take photographs in school settings, or should we collect memories instead?

Male infertility and The Fertility Podcast

What can a man do to improve his fertility? Why is the focus of such discussions usually on women? Why is male infertility a taboo subject for many? What’s it like to be a woman and told your partner has fertility issues? I’m delighted to publish this blog post, authored by Natalie Silverman who produces The Fertility Podcast.

Natalie tackles all these issues in this post. I feel this is such a vital subject and one that doesn’t get the attention it deserves, so please do have a read, listen to some episodes of the podcast and if you know someone affected by these issues, please share the post.

Natalie Silverman, the woman behind the Fertility Podcast with her son. She wants YOU to think about fertility.

Kids and tech: Why our sat-nav moos like a cow.

Check out the perplexed look on my face. Why is this sat-nav mooing like a cow?

Should I be a cool parent?

It was a dark night and we were driving home. It’s at such moments that I find my children can be at their most chatty and Helen was in a talkative mood, testing me, to see if I was a cool parent or not.

Looking longingly at acronyms my daughter didn’t think I’d know. Unfortunately for her, I’m quite well versed in these things.
