Another precious autumn season is starting and we are supposed to make the best of it. After too much heat all over the world, we can finally say that the better days have come, and start making the most out of them. This is the time of the year when we should prepare our bodies for long, cold and gloomy days that are yet to come.
As the nights get cooler getting better sleep becomes easier. Since the days are not too hot anymore, we can spend most of our leisure time outside. Therefore, here are some suggestions on how to prepare for a healthy autumn season.
Boost your Immunity with your diet
This is the time of the year that is richest with healthy and immunity-boosting foods. With such a variety of fruits and vegetables full of vitamins, it is time for a hot soup full of fiber-rich vegetables like carrots, beets, broccoli and spinach. Add some ginger, almonds and garlic to your diet, as they also have immuno-boosting properties. Eat plenty of fruits rich with vitamin C, and if you feel that this is not enough, you can add some Intelligent Labs Supplements to your diet as well.
Boost vitamin D production
Consume as much sunshine as possible, as this will boost natural vitamin D production. Since the weather is cooler in autumn, it’s no longer dangerous to spend plenty of time in the sun, as it is during summer. This healthy sunbathing should be done every day for a quarter of an hour minimum.
Take dynamic walks every day
There is no excuse not to take a walk every day. Even if you don’t feel like walking, put on your walking shoes and go for a dynamic stroll. This will make all the stress disappear, blood flow improve, heart beat more steadily, and your body cells will get more necessary oxygen. No matter how lazy you start your walk, after you manage to force yourself to go out, you will feel much better in 10 minutes at most. And you’ll come back home far more relaxed and feel healthier.
Drink enough water
Everybody is talking about drinking enough water. Some say it is around 2 liters per day, but this depends on your body constitution and health condition. Drink at least 6-7 glasses of water during the day if you do not feel like you need more, but keep in mind that this is the minimum your body needs.
Do all medical check-ups
If possible, schedule all of your medical check-ups during autumn. Not too hot, yet still pleasantly warm weather is the perfect time to do all you need to prepare for the cold days ahead. Don’t wait for flu and other virus infections season, you don’t need to expose yourself to any of them if not necessary. But instead try to stay healthy as long as possible.
Control your sweets intake
Autumn is the season when we like to turn on the oven and bake cakes, especially when cooler days arrive. Nothing compares to the smell of cinnamon and vanilla cookies in a warm room when you come from a cooler outside. But take care of how much sugar you consume, as chances are that you do not actually need as much. All the sugar your body needs to function properly you can easily consume with fruits and vegetables, but those little treats from time to time will make you feel better as long as you can control how much sweets you eat.
Keep your environment clean
Clean your cell phone, keyboard, keys to your car and home frequently. Those are things we touch too much and lots of germs live there. You can use alcohol and paper towels to give them a nice cleaning. Or you can use any other type of antibacterial wipes to clean them.
Keep a hand sanitizer at the reach of the hand at work and at your home door, and do not hesitate to offer them to anybody who comes from outside to use them.
