When Helen recognised gender inequality for the first time

I’m experiencing a new form of stress. It’s being caused by Izzy’s birthday party.
Izzy, our youngest daughter, has been at school for almost a month now. Her transition from pre-schooler to schoolgirl is complete.
With Izzy having started in Reception class, my attention has swung back to my eldest daughter’s schooling. It may be a little soon, but I find myself researching the best secondary schools in the area.
With my kids having been at school for all of two weeks, I am already finding myself having nightmares about the school run. It is, for me, one of the most irritating aspects of being a parent.
