“Daddy, I don’t want to go for a walk,” said Izzy. We’d spent most of the day inside either doing domestic chores or at Helen’s gymnastics class. being a beautiful autumn day, I wanted the kids and I to get out and enjoy some fresh air, hence why I insisted we go for a walk.
I would never have imagined that wild garlic would make for a particularly photogenic plant. What I present to you here, however, is a carpet of wild flowers in a nearby wood, all of them garlic. I took this photo one afternoon last week while on a nature walk with Izzy, my youngest daughter. I
I think this photograph encapsulates everything that childhood is meant to be; two kids exploring the natural environment on a gorgeous, early summer day. Ironically, however, this is not the picture I intended to take. It was supposed to be a landscape shot of the grass meadow framed by the two trees on either side.
Yesterday I took my two daughters on an impromptu woodland adventure. Pictured below is Izzy, my youngest child, making the most of a tree stump we came across.
