Black and white sun rise

Another week has gone by where I have found myself either looking after the children, blogging or trying to progress our house purchase. In reality, I have, more often than not, been doing all three at the same time leaving me little time to indulge in photographic hobby.

Point, shoot and hope for the best

I took this photograph of a bee collecting pollen on a brief visit to a National Trust property called Emmets Garden. Having recently published an image of a flower taken in poor lighting conditions, I wanted to see what I could do on a sunny day.

I was supposed to be taking photographs of flowers in good lighting conditions. When this bee came to say hello, well, I had to change my plans.

Capturing the moment on Brighton Beach

I have spent a lot of time recently experimenting with my photography. I’ve been trying out new camera settings and equipment and had great fun doing so. Sometimes, however, it’s simply about capturing the moment, like this one on Brighton Beach.

Photographing butterflies (again)

Still bitten by the nature photography bug, I’ve been out in my favourite patch of common land photographing the flora and fauna. I had an amazing piece of luck when I managed to get a picture of this butterfly resting on a flower.

I love the detail in this image, plus the dramatic mix of colours of the butterfly’s wings.

If you go down to the farm today. . .

It’s nice when a photograph receives an unexpectedly positive response, isn’t it? Although I quite like the madcap humour of the picture below, I was going to delete it. Until, that is, I saw Mrs Adams’ response.

A fun, madcap photo I took while visiting Godstone farm in Surrey. I was going to delete it but it reduced Mrs Adams to hysterics so thought it must be worth sharing!
