Over the past week, I have spent a massive amount of time using Photoshop. I’ve been doing all sorts of crazy things using the software, often late into the night. This edited image of the City of London, inspired by the film Inception, was great fun to produce.View Post
This week has been all about photography. In addition to attending the Bedrooms Of London photography exhibition, I spent a day in Brighton with Darren Coleshill of the Photalife blog. Together we strolled around the Marina, sea font and city centre with our cameras. It was during our time together I took this image of what remains of Brighton’s iconic West Pier, which was destroyed by fire in 2003.View Post
I’ve recently spent a lot of time focusing on the technical aspects of my photography. Very often, however, the subject matter is the crucial element of the image and that’s what I have concentrated on with this example of ice photography.View Post
This photograph was taken with the help of my youngest daughter, Izzy. She very kindly agreed to hold up this old picture frame so I could take a shot of a colourful market as we looked down at it from a bridge overhead.View Post
There are two elements of photography I have rarely experimented with: Lighting and a fast shutter speed. This week I combined the two to take this image of coloured water splashing out of a glass. By my own admission, it is a little rough and ready, but I don’t think it’s too bad for a first attempt.
