My youngest daughter is on the cusp of turning four. Anyone with a child turning four between now and 31 August 2017 will know what that means; it’s time to apply for a primary school place.
Buying school uniform is fraught with difficulties at the best of times. In my experience, my daughter, Helen, will tell me she wants skirts when in fact she wants dresses. Either that, or at her insistence, I’ll buy something with button fastenings when zips would be better.
I have just fulfilled a long standing promise to my children. After more than a year of asking, we spent a night in a tent at a nearby campsite.
Later this week my seven-year-old daughter will return to school after the long summer break. She’s left the infant playground behind and will join the big kids in the junior yard.
Here is my daughter Izzy, making clear she is enjoying the final few days of summer. As you can see, she was sitting in a tree at the time, the space on the branch seemingly custom made for her.
