I’m sure we’ve all had those moments where our children have said something hilarious. Toddler Adams came out with a superb example at the weekend.
Her older sister, Helen, has always been very verbal and used the English language creatively. Toddler Adams definitely follows in her sister’s footsteps and makes some amazing statements from time to time, despite her young age.
I’ve gone off-piste, so let me get back to the story I was going to tell. In a few weeks I have to go to a wedding. It’s a formal affair and I will need to wear a top-hat and morning suit.
This left me with a small issue as I didn’t own a top hat. With the big day approaching, I measured my head and ordered one. A couple of days later, a box arrived and within it was my new hat.
The kids were sat round the dining table when I took it out of the box. Toddler Adams, clearly very excited, climbed out of her chair and started bouncing around directly in front of me, a huge smile on her face.
“Daddy,” she said, “where is your magic wand?”
Toddlers ‘ey? You gotta love their way of thinking
What funny statements have your children come out with? Please leave a comment below, I’m sure you can think of a few!

That’s too cute! Mine hasn’t started talking yet, but I can’t wait to find out what her little personality will be like 😉 #twinklytuesday
Oh she’s bound to come out with a few classic statements. Thanks for commenting.
What a brilliant read! haha what a funny thing to say, it’ll just get worse though! Suz x Beauisblue.com
Caught me by surprise but she’s asked the same question every time she’s seen the hat.
Ahaha, what a funny lad you have! I’m sure his way with words will just get more and more colourful…Luke hasn’t quite got round to forming coherent sentences but he is such a blooming chatter box; it’s difficult to get a word in! Ray xx #TwinklyTuesday
Oh she really does come out with some classic. This one has to be a favourite though.
Sprog has just got to the absolute copying stage where he repeats pretty much everything we say – which meant that he spent most of the journey to nursery the other day saying “come on people” over and over again after I said it at the roundabout! It could have been much worse though! #TwinklyTuesday
Oh yes, Toddler Adams now copies people a lot too. WHat I find staggering is her ability to copy phrases and get the context 100% correct! She’s very observant.
Aww — I LOVE that thought process!!! What a wonderful way to think!! 🙂
One of our (very rich) friends has (luckily) never worked and therefore his son rarely saw him in a suit. My husband popped over to their house one day — on the way back from the office — all suited and booted, to which their son said ‘Are you going to a wedding?’ HA! Comes to something when the only time your child sees you in any kind of formal wear is to a wedding/funeral/christening!! 😉 Thanks so much for linking up with us #TwinklyTuesday

Oh yes, it had me in stitches, although it was a strangely logical way of thinking.
