This is one of those images that makes you thankful for camera phones. I was bundling the kids into the car for the school run the other day when I looked up and saw this. I didn’t have time to run into the house and get the camera so quickly snapped this picture.
I assume the X was created by two aircraft although I didn’t see any in the sky. Who knows, maybe it’s meant to be a gigantic kiss?
The only bit of detail I can give you is that it was shot in high definition mode. Aside from adding the frame it is completely unedited. I wanted to edit out the telephone lines and some of the hedgerow at the bottom but there was such a contrast of colours it would have been a nightmare to do and so I left it all in.
I hope you like the picture. It certainly bought a smile to my face.

That’s a fabulous photo – camera phones are great for capturing things like this 🙂
It’s fantastic! One of those really lucky finds. I like the silhouettes of the trees and wires at the bottom – it makes it more real.
2 aircraft? nuh i prefer to think it was 2 angels having fun together in the sky and leaving trails of glory :))
I get excited by xs like this in the sky. I’m not too sure why. The last time I saw one was the day of the Referendum 🙂
Well spotted and captured!
Z loves spotting these in the sky and always says the same thing as you “look mummy X marks the spot”
A lovely photo! With technology improving I think you can do a lot with camera phones. Composition , skill etc is important, but so is taking advantage of the right moment. Camera phones are great for that.

Great capture John – well done it is a fantastic photo 🙂
Great photo. And great capture. You were right to leave in the cables and trees. I like the effect their silhouette adds to the picture.
Fab photo, the beautiful of phone cameras, you can always capture a photo
Thank you for linking up
Great timing…..A fantastic photo! Certainly not something you see everyday x
Brilliant capture! This is the very reason I love camera phones too 🙂 #mysundayphoto
That’s a pretty impressive photo esp as you say it was snapped by camera phone. I always think plane trails are quite romantic in their mystery, this one with its ‘kiss’ cross confirms my theory!! Great snap x
It’s perfect isn’t it! I wonder what made it. Great capture
Love it, it’s great when you manage catch these kind of photos isn’t it?
