The summer holidays will soon be upon us and many families will be heading off to enjoy the sun in some far-flung, gorgeous location. The Balearic Islands are a popular choice with families. Although I haven’t been for some time, I have visited them in the past.
A very popular option with Brits is Mallorca (or Majorca). It’s so good I have even been myself!
If you haven’t booked a break yet, this could be a great option. There are 200 miles of beaches, attractions such as the amazing Caves of Drach plus great places to eat and the capital, Palma, has all manner of cultural offerings including the contemporary art museum (Es Baluard Contemporary Art Museum) and cathedral (La Seu).
If you’re tempted, the infographic below provides details of how you can visit the island on a budget. has been put together by villa specialist Book Mallorca and has details of when best to visit, how to get around and free attractions. It details what you can get up to for free and how you can visit the ideal on a budget. I hope you find it useful and wherever you are going during your summer break, have a great time.

I’ve always fancied Mallorca as I’ve heard time and time again that it’s good for families – the fact that there’s so many FREE activities is a bonus 😀
Not been for many, many years but the idea of returning does appeal!
