For the second time in a month #MySundayPhoto image is a glider! I was out visiting friends and taking my daughters for a walk when we saw this glider, preparing for take off, at an old airfield.
The guys operating the airfield were kind enough to let my eldest sit in the cockpit. Thankfully she’s far too young to actually fly in one although she does seem quite keen.
I didn’t think the image was anything special until I started experimenting with filter effects (all I’ve done is tinker with the selective colour function). It’s not particularly artistic but the contrast of the bright red on the black and white background is quite striking.
As mentioned above, I have linked this post to the #MySundayPhoto linky on the marvellous OneDad3Girls blog.

Fantastic. I love the red against the black and white. That was lovely of the pilot to let your daughter sit in the cockpit.
I like the red on the BW too. I played around with my editing, but got a little carried away and consequently my clouds look a little cartoonish, but your photo is believable.
Plane landing and take offs are always fascinating esp if your a kid! So this must be a super amazing experience for your girl. I am sure that being a pilot is one of the choices she has for a career now. And what you did with the photo is amazing. The contrast of colors are good =) #mysundayphoto
Great shot! Love the contrast between the red and black and white. xx
fab shot, love the vibrancy of the red x
Great use of selective colour, very interesting pic 🙂
You’re right, the contrast really is striking! #MySundayPhoto
Beautiful photo, I love a bit of selective colouring and this works perfectly with the vibrant red.
Thank you for linking up
What a great memory your daughter will have sitting in the cockpit. Not an everyday event – well not much around here. Love colours too.
I love the editing you have done with this photo!
Laura 🙂
Oh wow I love this John, great contrast with the plane with the B&W background. Your daughter must have been thrilled to have a ride, how awesome. Made me smile a lot this photo, I went in a glider in my teens and was allowed to drive it – temporarily thankfully (we weren’t quite heading where we supposed to)!
Lovely photo, the colour against the b&w looks great
Great shot! …And I too love what you’ve done with the colours
This is such an ace photo John. I love the colour pop! #mysundayphoto x
Oh, I love how you’ve done this, makes for a really special image!
